The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society
A London writer receives a letter from a man who lives on the island of Guernsey and they quickly become pen pals. They correspond and she feels the desire to go to Guernsey due to the stories he has told her about how the society came about. She wants to meet the colorful group who created the Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society in order to protect themselves from the Germans. This movie takes place after the German occupancy however it does bounce back a couple times. They share their experience during the war and how it effected their lives. This is a story about family, friends, love, exploration and personal discovery. I want to go to the island of Guernsey and meet the wild characters who make the movie feel like home. At the end of the film I knew it was a story I had to share. Please watch to the very end, it is beautiful.
